The R&D meetings in ICT and Health in Girona are consolidated with a more global view

For the fifth consecutive year, Girona has become the display for eHealth. For two days, 5 and 6 June, the 5th R&D Meetings in ICT and Health became the meeting place for 264 professionals, who used the surroundings of the Park of the University of Girona to exchange experiencess and work in a network in the area of innovation and health and social well-being. Furthermore, the most outstanding initiatives in the different categories were rewarded. The Park of the UdG, the Fundació TicSalut, the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euro Region, Mobile World Capital Barcelona and the e-Santé Centre in Toulouse (France) were the organisers.

Girona places its sights on integrated attention, mHealth and active ageing

One of the aims of the 5th R&D Meetings in Girona is to align the research world and enterprise in order to achieve greater added value in innovation in health and well-being. In fact, the discussion produced around the three round tables in the 2014 edition made this very clear. Key players in the sectors of health, social and ICT of Catalonia, the Pyrenees-Mediterranean Euro Region and other countries took part.

TicSalut starts a stage with a new Scientific Advisory Committee

37 members with renowned experienced in the area of ICTs and healthcare in Catalonia form the new Fundació TicSalut Scientific Advisory Committee. This new council will accompany the Foundation in its new stage, specified in the Strategic Plan 2013-2017. The first meeting to constitute the council took place on the past 30 May.

Interview with Dr. Jordi Galimany

He defended his doctoral thesis on the assessment made by nurses of the Primary Attention Electronic Medical Record, a work on which the Fundació TicSalut collaborated. In this interview, Dr. Galimany explains the results and conclusions he drew. A nurse and expert in image diagnosis, he is a guest teacher on the Open University of Catalonia’s Telemedicine Masters Degree and at present the promoter and director of the Masters Degree in Clinical and Community Applications in Health, Research and ICT of the Barcelona University School of Nursing.
