A firm wager on health ICTs in Catalonia. In late June, the Healthcare technology Cluster was constituted with the support of the Government of Catalonia through ACCIÓ, the agency specialised in fostering innovation and business internationalisation. The main aim is to promote competitiveness in this sector’s value chain. In fact in Catalonia health technologies now add up more than 300 companies and agents, a joint turnover of 3,600 million euros and nearly 15,000 workers.
On the past 25 June, the tender period opened on a process of public commercial purchase with a value of 900 thousand euros to find technological solutions for the DECIPHER project. The aim of this project is to develop technological solutions to facilitate healthcare for citizens travelling to other countries of the European Union.
As part of the Athens eHealth Week, the Momentum platform, an open network of experts in telemedicine of more than twenty organisations from around Europe, has presented a list of 18 critical success factors identified in implementing telemedicine in healthcare. This list, which will now be submitted to public consultation, has been drawn up in conjunction with the Fundació TicSalut as the entity responsible for the technological category.
The new publication from the Fundació TicSalut can now be seen on the Web; a 20-page document with the title “Technology, innovation and attention to social healthcare.” You will find updated details on the promotion of ICTs in the Catalan health system reflected in the latest Map of Tendencies, and also on the Strategic Plan 2013-2017, the Advisory Councils and all of the activities and initiatives started up by the foundation.
