The pilot trials start of the Personal Health Folder with 33 Primary Healthcare teams in Catalonia

The Health Department on 1 October started the pilot trial to enable citizens to consult their personal health data in the personal and non-transferable digital space Cat@Salut La Meva Salut, accessible via lamevasalut.gencat.cat. This project of the Health Department has been led by CatSalut and was accompanied along the way by Fundació TicSalut.

Fundació TicSalut publishes its Annual Report for 2013

2013 was an important year for Fundació TicSalut. The Strategic Plan 2013-2017 was approved and started up and, internationally, efforts were made to position Catalonia in the world. These and other initiatives have been brought together in the Foundation’s Report 2013, which is available in three languages (Catalan, Spanish and English).

65% of nurses in the USA use mobile phones as a professional tool at work

A study including 5,000 nurses in the United States shows that mobile devices are now another tool for support in these professionals’ work routines. However, there are still some barriers on their generalised use: the reliability of the online sources of information and the prohibition imposed by some health centres with respect to internet access.

The 4th Audio-visual Communication and Health Meeting will take place in Barcelona on the coming 18 October at the headquarters of the COIB

Interview with the team at #videosysalud

For four years, a multidisciplinary group of professionals has shared resources in the “Videos and Health” learning community in order to learn to express themselves in an audio-visual language understandable for all, to benefit both healthcare professionals and patients.  On the coming 18 October they will meet at the 4th Videos and Health Meeting which will be held at the Official School of Nursing of Barcelona (COIB). In Fundació TicSalut we have suggested a challenge to them: to explain (in a video) why healthcare professionals have to use ICTs and audio-visual communication to relate to patients.
