Save the date: on 19 December, Fundació TicSalut will be presenting the Map of Tendencies 2014

One year more, Fundació TicSalut invites you to the presentation of the Map of Tendencies in ICT and Health 2014 to be held on the coming 19 December. During the event, the Foundation will present the results of the ICT and health survey, there will be talk about the Master Plan of Mobility and different experiences in non-face-to-face healthcare and ICTs will be explained. The event will be held at the Auditorium of the TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and you are all invited.

The Model for Non-face-to-face Healthcare (MANP) is now available as an e-book

The new edition turns the document intended to facilitate the relationships between healthcare professionals and citizens of Catalonia by means of ICTs into a useful and attractive tool for both patients and professionals. This preserves the essence of the MANP: to improve and facilitate access to healthcare, to promote efficiency and comfort and to modulate healthcare demand.

Breaking down the myths on the application of ICTs to the health services

In order to promote the implementation of ICTs in the healthcare system it is important to understand user needs and preferences. A questionnaire was designed to analyse whether the myths relating to the use of new technologies by users of healthcare services are unfounded, and the results break down myths such as the belief that only young people use new technologies.

Jordi Serrano, founder of UniversalDoctor

Creator of the UniversalDoctor Project to improve communication between healthcare professionals and patients by means of ICTs, his UniversalDoctor Speaker application, which has the support of Fundació TicSalut, won the World Summit Award (WSA) mobile sponsored by the United Nations. The app is used to intuitively connect patients and professionals and to facilitate the treatment and prescription of medicines in thirteen languages. WSA-mobile each year rewards the most innovative mobile content, and the winners for 2014 were made public on the past 29 October.
