On the past 23, 24 and 25 May, Barcelona hosted the ICIC16 -16th International Conference on Integrated Care. Researchers, clinical professionals and managers from all around the world had a chance to share their experiences and see the most recent evidence of the integration in public health, health and social services. Amongst many other subjects, one dealt with was the active ageing of the population, challenges and opportunities; the hospital integration of mental health and rehabilitation services, and policies and mobile and digital solutions on health were approached, highlighting the new mHealth and digital health tools. Aspects of clinical leadership were also studied and the models of joint work with patients, carers and community.
Coinciding with the three months since the public presentation of the mHealth.cat Office, we take the opportunity to make a balance of the first 90 days in operation in a two-day work meeting in Brussels, sessions organised by the European Commission in order to define the directives for assessing and validating the reliability of mobile applications in health and social welfare.
The Madrid Westin Palace on the past 2 June hosted the 1st IoT 2016 MADRID FORUM “IoT: Innovation & Technology”, a meeting of partners from the sectors of industry, innovation, technology providers, business developers and other players interested in the new paradigm of the Internet of Things (IoT). This event focused on the emerging opportunities and the connection between the different players, and promoted international collaboration to approach opportunities in this sector.
The promotion ends in the registry of the IoT Solutions World Congress to be held in Barcelona in October
25 to 27 October will be the dates of the 2nd edition of the IoT Solutions World Congress and TicSalut is part of the group of ambassadors helping to spread the word on this international event that will receive more than 160 exhibiting companies, 200 leading speakers in the sector who will give more than 100 sessions, 10 selected test beds that will be presented as a world exclusive, and an area devoted to innovation start-ups. The program of talks will focus on the Industrial Internet and its success cases in Manufacture, Transport and Logistics, Energy and Health, and technological innovations and business transformation in vertical markets. The next edition of the IoTSWC will have 8,000 professional attendees.

The Portal AppSalut will officially be starting up on the coming 20 June as a project led by Fundació TicSalut (Health Department), with the collaboration of different entities involved and on which work has been done in the last year. To mark the start, we have interviewed the project coordinator, Enric Llopis, Fundació TicSalut project manager, for him to share the details of the launch and explain the features of the Portal.

The Foundation took part in this year’s edition of the eHealth Week 2016, which was held in Amsterdam from 8 to 10 June.
The 2016 edition of the eHealth Week was held from 8 to 10 June in Amsterdam, at the Berlage stock market building. Taking advantage of the umbrella that this event offers, the principal interoperability standard associations of the health sector, such as IHE, Continua Health Alliance and HL7, performed different sessions and summits.
