Once again this year, following the commission of the Department of Health, Fundació TicSalut is starting up the Map of Tendencies 2016, a study which since 2007 aims to discover the degree of deployment of ICT in health institutions in Catalonia, and which is expressed by means of an online survey in all SISCAT centres. This year, it is structured into three parts: the first maintains the content of the previous editions but has been updated and considerably abbreviated; the other two, separate from the first, are new developments in a pilot phase in which a focus is sought on healthcare and citizens’ attention, respectively.
In the coming month of October, the third edition of the Master’s Degree in Chronic Disease and Dependency (MUCD) will be starting. This is a research-oriented master’s degree aimed at nursing, social work and medical professionals who wish to enter a Doctorate Program.
Ariadna Campoy and Max Montero are two 17-year-old students (on second-year baccalaureate) from the Escola Pia Santa Anna de Mataró, who are developing their research work with the aim of creating a hand prosthesis using a 3-D printer, which will be activated by a movement of the wrist. “Our work consists of making, designing, printing and assembling a prosthesis using the 3D Blender design and modelling program and printing the .stl file using a 3-D printer,” they say.
