This April, the Flash TicSalut newsletter reaches its 100th issue! The Fundació TicSalut, which works to promote the development and use of ICTs and networking in the area of health, has used the newsletter as a tool for giving news and passing on knowledge in the field of innovation, technology and health. These have been 10 years of a monthly newsletter with more than 7,200 subscribers (2017), translated into 3 languages (Catalan, Spanish and English) and sent to more than 300,000 users since the first issue in 2008.
The "Connected Apps in Healthcare 2017" report made by KLAS research, studies the health organisations’ and market’s evaluations and perceptions of the health apps, and identifies their uses and trends.
The 20th edition of the Inforsalud 2017 Congress was held in Madrid from 20 to 23 March. TicSalut was there with the AppSalut Portal, the Intersocial project and the Trends Map study in an edition focused on the digital transformation of the health sector.

In the 100th issue of the Flash TicSalut, we wanted to know more about the technological management of a hospital, as it gathers many of the characteristics to which we have given a voice in all of these editions: technology, health, information systems, mobile applications, vision, innovation, etc. Raquel Cánovas is the Directress for Technology of the Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron and Marta Carbonell is the IT Sub Directress. Both give us a view of the current Catalan environment and consider the sector’s next challenges and opportunities.
Standards and Interoperability
At the Fundació TicSalut’s Office of Standards and Interoperability (OFSTI) the results have been published of the Intersocial project: semantic interoperability in social care. The controlled vocabulary chosen to represent these concepts was SNOMED CT, as multilingual, granular and flexible international terminology.
