For the seventh year, Fundació TicSalut has organised the Map of Tendencies meeting, an event already highly consolidated that gives an objective presentation of the development and use of ICTs in the healthcare systems in Catalonia and around the world. Over 350 healthcare professionals and technologists filled the TecnoCampus Mataró-Maresme Auditorium on the past 20 December to see TicSalut present the results of these studies and also the yearly talk, which this year focused on unattended forms of healthcare. In this special edition of the FlashTicSalut bulletin, we offer all of the keys and the talks given at the Map of Tendencies 2013.
70% of hospitals and primary attention centres use mobile ICTs, according to the Catalonia ICT and Health Survey 2013
For the second consecutive year, 100% of the health providers took part in the ICT and Health Survey, a study promoted for the past seven years by TicSalut and which objectively allows the degree of development of ICTs to be known in the network of public healthcare and social healthcare centres in Catalonia.
In addition to studying the state of the question of health ICTs in Catalonia, the Fundació TicSalut aims to observe the principal levers of change in the traditional health models around the world in order to bring them into the strategy of the Health Plan. In 2013, five tendencies were identified that deal with the revolution of data and the new models focused on the patient.
“It is not a question of whether telemedicine works or doesn’t work, but rather of defining what it is for,” insisted Dr. Rosa Sunyol, directress of the Institut Avedis Donabedian during the presentation of the study which each year complements the Fundació TicSalut Map of Tendencies.
