This comprehensive training is an innovative collaboration between academia, community-based educators, instructional design experts and tribal representatives. The training curriculum is designed to support the transition to technology-enabled health and health care.
The Telehealth course is designed to assist sites in starting and expanding telehealth programs. The course examines strategic planning, technical and clinical details, as well as legal and regulatory information related to telehealth programs.
The Consumer Health Informatics course explores the development and implementation of computer and telecommunications applications and interfaces designed to be used by health consumers i.e., patients.
The Clinical Health Informatics course explores aspects of how acquisition, storage, retrieval and use of information can enhance the quality of care, reduce the costs of delivery and address population health issues.
The EHR/HIE Adoption course examines the technical and systemic issues relating to EHR/HIE adoption, and explores the integration of EHR/HIE/eHealth technology in relation to successful transitions to technology-enabled health delivery.
The Broadband Adoption course provides a basic understanding of broadband technology and examines the importance of broadband in healthcare. The course also reviews initiatives currently underway to increase the availability of broadband in California and how to obtain broadband services.
The Change Management course explores the theories and approaches to change management from the organizational as well as the community lens. The focus of the course is on what is required to attain systems change – partnership, cross-system impacts of e-health adoption, and multi-layered change at the staff, organization, consumer and community level.
