Interoperability is the ability to easily integrate information between systems, in storage and communications as well as in business processes. This interoperability should be defined using a language that allows for integration: standards.
The Office of Standards and Interoperability of the TicSalut Foundation works to ensure interoperability of health systems, defining and promoting standards that serve as reference documents to achieve this interoperability.
Below are the projects in which the OFSTI participates and the related documentation:
On the past 29 and 30 October, the SNOMED CT EXPO 2015 meeting was held in Montevideo, Uruguay. This event aims to create a place for exchanging experiences in the international development and use of SNOMED CT. The exhibition was attended by 420 people and more than 45 presentations were made. Also displayed were 3 posters and 4 training sessions were held following a structure of attended tutorials. The EXPO had an exhibition area of stands where different companies of the sector such as Apelon, BITAC, termMed, Vidal vademècum, etc. were displaying their products and services. The Fundació TicSalut presented the Clinical Dictionary for iHealth, the transversal project of the Health Department led by the Office of Standards and Interoperability, which is intended to standardise the controlled vocabulary of the SISCAT. The dictionary uses the SNOMED CT standard as its reference terminology and basic ontology of representation, combining it with other controlled vocabularies such as the CIM-9-MC, CIM-10, LOINC, ATC, etc. The foundation was also able to visit the sessions of software development and the general assembly of the IHTSDO of the Business Meeting, which was held from 26 to 28 October at the same hotel Radisson.
